Nintendo's Miyamoto: 'Mario' Not Exactly Aging Well on HD
Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto might just be the most humble geek alive. Miyamoto's 'Super Mario Bros.' turned 25 in September, and the legendary developer now contends that what may be the greatest game of all time currently strikes him as "a little embarrassing." Discussing time and technology's effect on 'Mario,' Miyamoto reportedly said recently, "Back then, with tube televisions, it was a little blurrier and the images weren't quite so sharp." Now, though, those "places where we tried to fudge it a bit really stand out!" Even though Miyamoto readily admits "those rough places are a part of the game," his "aw-shucks" attitude definitely doesn't work here. Miyamoto worrying about the classic's imperfections would be like Jessica Biel or Brad Pitt complaining that HD makes them look fat and ugly.
