Good News: MySpace Unveils New Logo. Bad News: It's Still MySpace.

In July, MySpace revealed it was working on a sparkling new site redesign, in the hopes that a new look would give the social network a boost in traffic. Instead of throwing in the towel and wallowing in self pity, however, the once-proud site is taking another shot at online relevance -- with a new logo.

The logo, which was unveiled at Friday's Warm Gun Design conference in San Francisco, takes a blatantly literal approach to the social network's name, with the word 'my' followed by a symbol denoting a space. According to MySpace VP of User Experience Mike Macadaan, the idea is for MySpace's users to fill in the space with their own artwork. "MySpace is a platform for people to be whatever they want, so we've decided to give them the space to do it," Macadaan tells TechCrunch. Kitsch as the concept may be, the site's users may actually appreciate having a new corner to personalize -- assuming, of course, that MySpace still has any users.
