Segway Owner Jimi Heselden Dies After Riding Segway Over a Cliff
In a certain sense, dying while doing something you truly love is a luxury that most people will likely never experience. Silver as that lining may be, however, it probably won't do much to console the family of Segway owner Jimi Heselden, who recently died after driving one of his trademark devices off of a cliff in England. As the Telegraph reports, Heselden's body was found late Sunday morning in the River Wharfe near his North Yorkshire estate. The multi-millionaire businessman, whose love for Segways compelled him to buy the company earlier this year, had reportedly spent the morning cruising around his property on an off-road version of the popular device, before accidentally falling to his death. A former mine worker, Heselden initially made his fortune from wire cage water containment systems, which he personally developed and eventually sold to NATO, British and American forces. With an estimated net worth of more than $250 million, it's safe to say that the 62-year-old entrepreneur made the most of his tragically short time on Earth.
