iCub Robot Learns Archery, Will Enslave Us All

iCub Learns Archery
Humanoid robots are supposed to make us feel more comfortable. Many seem to think they're cute (although your writer thinks they're usually nightmare inducing), but don't be fooled; it's all just a ploy. They want you to trust them. That's when they put on the headdress, break out the bow and arrow, and take you out like the inferior life form that you are. Don't believe us? Just watch the video after the break.

The open-source iCub bot uses a pre-programed learning algorithm to pick up the art of archery. First, it masters holding the bow, then firing the arrow, and then aiming its shot. By the end, the iCub is repeatedly hitting the bullseye. Sure, this projectile may only be plunger tipped now, but we're sure the iCub is learning to whittle and shoot its own flaming arrows as we speak.
