8BITWOOD Adorns Your Walls With Retro Gaming Wonder
Geeky gamers regularly create 8-bit tributes to classic video games. The steady progression of pixellated masterpieces makes it increasingly difficult for 8-bit artisans to consistently produce desirable and impressive works, though. Somehow, game developer Jeff Swenty has overcome those now-cliched wedding invitations and wall posters by tapping into a deep pit of retro inspiration and creativity. Swenty's new 8-bit gaming gallery, dubbed 8BITWOOD, features pixellated mosaics and murals constructed entirely of wooden blocks. Swenty's sizable and impressive decorative pieces accurately honor primordial video games, including 'Pitfall,' 'Space Invaders,' 'Mega Man' and -- of course -- 'Mario.'
Other, similarly arresting, 8-bit artworks certainly exist, but one notable bonus boosts Swenty's pieces to another level: they're for sale. So, if your walls and rooms are depressingly barren of 'Excite Bike' and 'Contra' accoutrement, just shoot Jeff a message because he, and hordes of gaming nerds, "would love to see these things out in the real world being enjoyed by people!" Hmmm. How much would it cost to commission a kitchen ceiling of the 'Creation of Junior (Pac-Man)'?
