APB! Suspected Laptop Thief Provided Handy Mugshot by iChatting With Victim's Friend

The suspected thief took the Apple laptops back in late July, and at some point signed in to the owner's iChat account. (We're not sure why the photo is so late to surface, but we're glad that it did.) The suspect took over $30,000 worth of belongings, including cameras, jewelry and handbags, in addition to the computers. (Hey, East Hampton!) Suffolk County Detective Lieutenant Christopher Anderson said in a statement, "At this point, it is unclear if one or more persons committed the burglary...[but] we have every reason to believe he is in one form or another involved in the crime." So if you happen to know someone who likes to frequent Three Mile Harbor Drive and has a bedroom like the one pictured above, turn informer by calling Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS for a possible $5,000 reward. Internet vigilantes to the rescue! (Admittedly, not always a good thing.)
