Foursquare Updates iPhone App, Adds 'Add to My Foursquare' Button

Foursquare Updates
Location-based social network Foursqare has updated its iPhone app to 2.0 (with a similar update to hit Android and BlackBerry soon). The app received a significant reorganization that separates your tips and to-dos from the rest of your feed. Thanks to the two new buttons on the bottom navigation bar, those places you've been meaning to check out are easier to locate. You can also quickly add new locations to your to-do list, and view tips directly from the places pages of nearby businesses.

More important, though, for expanding Foursquare's vision is the introduction of the 'Add to My Foursquare' button. Instead of just hoping that a friend will check in from someplace new, you can now click a button that will add a place directly to your to-do list from its website. If you spot a shop you want to check out on Racked, or a read a good review of a restaurant on the New York Times site, you can quickly and easily add it to your to-do list. Zagat, the Wall Street Journal, New York Magazine and Time Out (both Chicago and New York) will be adding the buttons to their sites in the coming days. We just can't help but wonder what happens when we run out of room for all the share, post, save and like buttons in the sidebar.
