Ferran Adrià to Post Recipes From El Bulli's Food Science Lab, Eventually

ferran adria
Ferran Adrià, food science chef and owner of the soon-closing, three-Michelin-starred El Bulli in Catalonia, Spain, recently told an audience of adventurous gastronomes at Harvard University that he will begin posting a daily recipe from the research lab that his restaurant is scheduled to become in 2014. According to the Guardian, Adrià says he wants to create a "social networking site of culinary creativity."

Considered one of the best restaurants in the world, El Bulli has maintained a rabid following of foodies and other chefs since its inception; reservations for the restaurant's entire season are only taken one day a year, and can only accommodate 8,000 of the two million requests. Despite its fame, the restaurant has been running at a loss of over $600,000 each year. Adrià has said that El Bulli will eventually become a research foundation for exploration in food techniques, although it may still serve food as a non-commercial restaurant. While the opening may be four years away, you can be sure that serious food lovers and science buffs will be ticking off the days until they can access the wealth of culinary innovation to come out of whatever becomes of El Bulli.
