Old School 'Lemmings' Make Us Want to Jump to Our Death (With Glee!)

Lemmings
As much as we love new gaming experiences, sometimes we hanker for the classic games of our distant youth. Luckily, many of these can be revisited in browser-based iterations. This week, we'll take a look at timeless classics -- like yesterday's 'Pac-Man' -- that are always worth wasted productivity. If you haven't played these in a few years, or if (heaven forbid) you've never undertaken them, then what are you waiting for?

Classic PC puzzle game 'Lemmings' has contributed to an abundance of bleary-eyed gamers blinking at the sun and wondering how they ended up playing until the wee hours of the morning. In 'Lemmings,' players must guide a mindlessly suicidal group of creatures safely to each level's exit. This is done by assigning Lemmings specific jobs, such as digging holes, using umbrellas to float down perilous pitfalls, and blocking and redirecting the flow of the masses. The game features four difficulty levels, from "fun" to "mayhem," depending on the amount of feverish mouse clicking and micromanagement players are willing to undertake.
