Fan-made 'Sonic and Knuckles' 3-D Revives the Genesis Glory Days

We're convinced that Sonic's glory days can be found during the 16-bit age of Genesis, and we'd throw down for another sidescrolling hedgehog adventure in an instant. YouTube user BlobVanDam has created a wonderful, widescreen 3-D version of the 'Mushroom Hill Zone' from 'Sonic & Knuckles' by animating over the original with 3DS Max and After Effects. Sadly, there's no playable game, so you won't get the chance to play as a three-dimensional Sonic, Knuckles or Tails anytime soon.
