'iCam' iPhone App Helps Man Catch Burglars While Out of Town

iPhone Breakin
Vincent Hunter clearly has a bit of a paranoid streak. The Dallas man was preparing to visit relatives in Hartford, Connecticut, but, first, he needed to set up his home security system and streaming iPhone app so that he could monitor his residence from over a thousand miles away. While we think there's something strange about a man who can't trust that his home won't be robbed each time he leaves, Hunter's suspicious streak was justified on Friday, August 20th. Hunter received a text message informing him that the motion sensors in his home had been tripped. He quickly fired up his 'iCam' app (which had sent him the alert), and turned on his webcam -- just in time to see a pair of burglars grow frustrated with previous attempts at a more subtle break-in, smashing his glass door with a brick.

Mr. Hunter called the police, whom he watched (again, via 'iCam') as they entered his home moments later, through the same door the criminals had broken. Unfortunately, the pair of crooks got away, and it's not apparent whether or not they nabbed anything. If the two were chased off by police before they were able to steal anything, we'd say Hunter's $4.99 purchase was well worth it.
