A previously classified incident from 2008, in which a foreign agent placed an infected thumb drive on a U.S. military laptop in the Middle East and penetrated both classified and unclassified networks,
has just been confirmed by Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn III as "
the most significant breach of U.S. military computers ever."
