As others have said these are all totally unecessary junk and most schools wouldn't allow them anyway. As for recording lectures in college classes, most professors do not allow this and if a student is found out will be flunked or even expelled. As for the cutesy crap the writer uses to describe each article, grow up and stop referring to yourself as we and our. Get a life.

@ilaggie23 This is meant to be a fun list for inexpensive ways to get excited about back to school. However, I would like to correct you: it is highly unlikely that a professor wouldn't allowed a recording device in his or her lecture room. My college and university (I went to two) encouraged it, and the short amount of research I did suggested that its almost always allowed, but you should always check with your prof: http://www.educationask.com/higher-education/1954-1-Higher-Education.html.
We would suggest, as the post says, for anyone in medical or journalism school.
