Most of these "research" pronouncement are by individuals (like the "genius" who wrote this research and doesn't take into account facts that will negate his pronouncements) and companies (like gardener research), who have to justify their existence & exhorbitant $ rates by dreaming up ridiculous.
Yes, mobile device use has gone up.
Yes, you can do a lot on a phone while walking, riding in a car, etc which would be difficult to do if you tried it on a laptop. But this does not mean the web is dead.
