Shmuel Linski's Espresso Solo Coffee Maker Adds Concrete to the Brew

Our tireless search for the perfect cup of joe finds us forever tweaking our approach to brewing. Of course, this involves testing new coffee gadgetry and techniques, ranging from obsessively monitoring water temperature to testing multiple grinders for the ideal ground consistency. For fans of brutalism and strong caffeinated beverages, the Espresso Solo concept is the perfect concrete coffee maker for your kitchen. Designed by student Shmuel Linski of the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, the fully functional, Lavazza-branded espresso machine offers two options: short and long shot. Beans are poured into the top, and water is added via the "water drawer" on the back of the device. Sure, it's probably a pain to clean, but the Espresso Solo should prove a heavy deterrent to would-be burglars. [From: Dezeen]
