Michael Jackson Forces 'Plants Vs. Zombies' to Change Dancing Zombie Character
Michael Jackson is dead. And his family, apparently, wants to keep it that way -- even in the world of iPhone games. According to MTV, Jackson estate lawyers recently forced gaming company PopCap to change a character in one of its iPhone apps, 'Plants vs. Zombies,' because said character bore a striking resemblance to the King of Pop. From now on, the Dancing Zombie character will no longer be clad in a Thriller-esque red leather jacket, short pants and white socks. Instead, the character will become disco-themed. "The Estate of Michael Jackson objected to our use of the 'dancing zombie' in 'Plants vs. Zombies' based on its view that the zombie too closely resembled Michael Jackson," a PopCap Games rep told MTV. "After receiving this objection, PopCap made a business decision to retire the original 'dancing zombie' and replace it with a different 'dancing zombie' character for future builds of 'Plants vs. Zombies' on all platforms. The phase-out and replacement process is underway."
iPhone 4 users thinking about updating their version of 'Plants Vs. Zombies,' however, should be warned that doing so will reportedly cause the game to crash. Those buying the game for the first time, on the other hand, should be okay. A company representative acknowledged the problem, and "a fix is in the works and should be ready soon." If you're in the market for an update, then, you should probably hold off -- and enjoy the Gloved One while you can. [From: MTV, via: RockPaperShotgun]

This is only fitting and shows proper RESPECT for the dead. Let this famous and beloved man R.I.P. at last. We don't want to think of him as a zombie. The Estate of the late GREAT Michael J. is "on" it! Thank you!!

Look up when the game was created, the character was in before he died. To me, not much of an insult at all.
