Kanye Gives Facebookers the Best Break Ever, Disney Nabs Playdom

  • Yesterday, Kanye West did some networking at Facebook headquarters, where he also delivered some material from his upcoming album. After West expressed a fear that he might "wear out his welcome," employees enthusiastically urged him to continue. Hmm. Go back to work, or slack off and watch Kanye? Tough call.   • ESPN recently partnered with social gaming firm Playdom, the creator of 'Social City,' to develop a line of social sports games. Disney, which happens to own ESPN, apparently recognized Playdom's market potential; it just purchased the company for $563.2 million with another $200 million in possible incentives.   • Rather than solely having Queue access, PS3 owners can now search Netflix's Watch Instantly catalog directly from their Sony consoles. Sorry, Xbox and Wii owners, you'll apparently have to wait until the fall. [From: Engadget]
  • After months of waiting, Android 2.2, or Froyo, has apparently made an appearance on the Droid X. The software upgrade should officially arrive on various other gadgets within the next few weeks. [From: Engadget]
  • Authorities dismantled the global Mariposa botnet in May, and the FBI believes Slovenian police have nabbed the operation's ringleader, a 23-year old known as Iserdo. [From: The Associated Press]
  • Despite consistently poor AT&T customer service reviews, Microsoft has -- at least according to one AT&T spokesperson -- tapped the telecommunications company to be the "premier carrier for Windows Phone 7." [From: Engdaget]
