Watching Twitter tonight has taught me one thing, Phillies fans are a bunch of whiny dicks. But it's ok, every tank needs a bottom feeder.

And I thought I wanted to hug Johan last week. I think I'm officially in love.

Facebook needs to be careful with this one. Blocking users due to their race, gender, sex and religious belief is illegal and its prejudice. Even if Facebook is free they still have to follow the certian laws and that happens to be one of them. Facebook is treading on a very slippering slope here.

Lisa, It's their site, why can't they do whatever they want with it? Would you call the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) prejudice because they exclude everyone but the black race? What about the website Black Voices on aol? I would think if I started a website I shouldn't have to allow everyone to visit my site, especially if I wasn't sure what ulterior motives they have. What if facebook got sued because people were offended by the propaganda that this Arab web page was trying to shove down our throats? What if al-qaeda wanted to start a web page? Political correctness will be the undoing of America.

Marit, I'm fairly sure anyone can join the NAACP and can also read "Black Voices."

Lisa, racism and prejudice are not illegal, nor should they be. Have you ever heard of freedom of expression? It is only under certain circumstances where it is against the law. A website is not one of those. Facebook is not racist, and if the did become racist, I would consider leaving. That is my choice, as well as the choice of anyone else using the free service.

It's illegal if they wewre a public held company. As a private "club" they can allow whoever they want for membership by stipulation in the rules.
He's a Jew, the arabs and Christians should count themselves as lucky he shares with them or go do their own thing and not let Mark become a member.

Actually Facebook can do whatever it wishes to. They are a privately owned business and is entitled to deny service to whomever they want whenever they want. Frankly there is no one way Facebook can avoid being seen as prejudiced by someone or another, as they are dealing with a world community. And because we do not live in a peaceful world, if they try to level the playing field for a group of people, another group of people will certainly feel less protected and therefore will feel they have been the victim of prejudice. So Facebook cannot win that one. As long as Facebook tries to play political correctness hall monitor, the more people will leave and the more people will feel like they are being discriminated against. Facebook cannot win on this one.
