Apple Launches iPhone 4 Case Program, Sending Bumper Refunds Soon
Kicking off what we hope is the beginning of the end of the 'Antennagate' mess, Apple launched its iPhone 4 Case Program today. Steve Jobs promised free Bumpers, cases and refunds to iPhone 4 owners at last week's emergency press conference, and you're eligible for the refund or case as long as you purchase Apple's latest phone before September 30th. For those of you who have already bought an official Bumper, your credit card will soon be credited for the full cost of the purchase, including taxes and shipping. Cash, check and credit card purchases made at the Apple Store require that you to return to the Apple Store for a refund, but AT&T purchasers get to fill out this Rebate Form and return by mail. If you haven't purchased a case yet, fire up the App Store on your iPhone, grab the 'iPhone 4 Case Program' app, and select your complimentary reception-saving cover. Once you've jumped through the digital paperwork, it's probably best to just launch some 'Angry Birds' -- your new case probably won't be arriving for a few weeks. [From: Apple, via: Engadget]

I bought a IPhone 4 case from AT&T. I was told I could fill out the rebate form on the Apple store and get a rebate. Well, Apple is only giving a rebate for 6 specific bumpers - not cases. This is a disingenuous offer from Apple. Their bean counters have probably figured out they will limit the cost/exposure by making people wait weeks for cases and limiting the models they will reimburse. Apple is acting like a medical insurance company. I am so disappointed in Jobs. Maybe he should go back on medical leave

My iPhone 4 is fine the way it is! No type of grip, regardless of location, will diminish the number of bars or affect its operation adversely in any way. It operates as all my other iPhones have. I have a sneaky suspicion the reception can also be affected by the location and the amount of moisture in a person's hand as well.
There are, scientifically speaking, too many variables to make rules that fit every situation. I am sure every smartphone maker is just as perplexed as Apple.
What? You've owned how many computers and haven't heard of workarounds?!?

And I also read that they are denying refunds and free cases to iphone 4 owners in Puerto Rico, since it is outside the US!!!! But they were able to buy the damn thing the very same day it was available on the US!!!!! How convenient!!!!
I am SOOOOO happy with my 3GS!!!!!!
