Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg to Make 'Simpsons' Cameo This Fall
It can be argued that the true measure of celebrity is whether or not a person has made a cameo on 'The Simpsons.' After all, just look at a few of the names who've appeared on the show during its 21-year-run on Fox. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has more than 500 million "friends," a movie based on his life coming out this fall and, according to New York Magazine, a featured role in an episode of 'The Simpsons' that will air in October. In the episode, titled 'Loan-a-Lisa,' Lisa Simpson and school bully Nelson Muntz become young entrepreneurs when they start a bike company together. The duo attends a convention to meet investors, and bump into none other than The Zuck, who reminds them that many young billionaires (cough, cough) dropped out of school. Don't expect the bookish Lisa to follow his advice, although we bet Nelson will be all for it. While 'The Simpsons' ain't the comedy powerhouse it once was, the show is still good for a laugh or two each week, especially when a topic -- like Zuckerberg's social networking empire -- is so ripe for the picking. As the CEO of Facebook, he should be more concerned with his own problems: Poor and unreliable software, privacy issues and trying to keep hackers out of Facebook.

Ah come on Don. Give him a break. When do you ever hear about him having any fun, elaborate vacations, homes, planes, cars etc. He is still a kid. I saw him in an interview. He is trying to do the right thing. Facebook exploded and I for one enjoy it. I get pissed at times but I keep going back.
Sure he needs to work on his software and privacy issues and hackers, but he deserves some down time too. How long do you think it will take for him to do a cameo spot on The Simpson? An hour? A whole day? So what?

You are not wrong, Don. Dummies like docguy58 says that you should get a life--typical of those who are willing to turn a blind eye to wrong doing. People need to look at this craze of social networking and realize that it's purpose is not to aid you in keeping touch with family and friends and whomever; that is simply an added feature of their prime purpose: data mining. Zuckerberg himself said that information is money, so one would have to be pretty naive (stupid?) to think that these "accidental" changes in privacy settings or the [needless] difficulty engineered into these sites that make finding the privacy settings are actually accidents. (Example: You mention a product you like and wham! Your face could appear in an ad for that product when on the pages of those whom you have granted viewing privileges to your site information. A profit is made off using your likeness--and you don't get a penny of it. Of course a lot of things are buried in those deliberately long, confusing terms of use tomes that too few people have the patience or time to read through. That's the danger. Everything should be on an opt-in instead of opt-out basis.) I don't use social networking for this very reason. Good luck to those who do--and be diligent in getting to know what these sites are doing behind the scenes.
