Arcade Fire Teases Live YouTube Stream for August 5th NYC Show

This isn't uncharted ground by any means. The world's biggest rock band, U2, streamed a concert from the Rose Bowl on YouTube last year. And, more recently The National, a Brooklyn-based band, streamed a sold-out show on YouTube in May, the video having been directed by D.A. Pennebaker. The decision worked out well for the band, which saw its latest album, 'High Violet,' debut at #3 on the U.S. charts.
Of course, with the huge following the band has developed, it's almost unfair to call Arcade Fire "indie." But the hands-on notion of streaming the show online is a nice gift to fans, and a move that other bands would do well to emulate. [From: Spinner and Brooklyn Vegan]
