'FrontierVille' Attracts 20 Million Digital Settlers

Unfortunately, there are no numbers showing how many real-life relationships have ended or how many boxes of snack cakes have been consumed from playing too much 'FrontierVille.' [From: USA Today]

had no idea "googliser" was a verb. “@LeFigaro_Emploi: Google : «On googlise les candidats, bien sûr» http://t.co/1UV5oF19”
Definitely not rooting for that hoity toity Pekingese, that's for damn sure. #Westminster
I'm, like, okay with being a little crazy.
The time, energy, words, weight lost, nails bitten, scabs picked and nights I've struggled thru for this are easy to judge from afar, right?

WTF does "..boxes of snack cakes have been consumed" mean? Is Mr. Caleb Johnson trying to say that if you play games online you only eat junk food? Or that people who play these type of games are overweight? Maybe it's Mr. Johnsons' own confession that he enjoys planting a few crops while munching on a chocolatey cake. LOL

I really think Farmville and Frontierville players need to get a life. A friend of mine started playing Farmville about a year ago and nobody's seen her since....She can't go anywhere for fear that her fake crops and fake animals may die a horribly long and painful fake death. I think her real life husband may serve her with real life divorce papers...if only he had her fake farm address.

because you know one person who has nothing better to do or maybe who's life is so bad that she used farmville to get away ( maybe she should divorce her husband) does not mean all player's are like that. I play these games on facebook everyday. I have 2 job's, a husband, friends and a very full life. for most people it is a simple way to chill out for a hour or so from a busy "real" life.
oh and I have one rule at the computer NO FOOD !!!

I play Frontierville. Not all the live long day. I just can't do that . You just check in on it a couple times a day is all. It's been fun so far. No chocolatey snacks were consumed in the process. :)

do they track how many same-sex or biracial marriages are on frontierville? most of my friends have either another race or same-sex spouses on frontierville.

Getting pretty sick of the game bashing articles. Or, bashing the people that play them rather. Don't you think the same assumptions that have been made in this article can be made about the person that wrote this article? I mean, isn't it safe to say that someone that writes articles online is probably online all day? Sitting at a computer? What's to say YOU aren't the one sitting there stuffing your face while researching these games and writing the article? I play these games and I don't eat at the computer, am not anywhere near overweight, or lazy, and have never had a relationship end because of an online game. If you don't like the game or the people that play them, block it, delete them and leave the rest of us the hell alone.

I play both Farmville and FrontierVille.. they are fun and cute, tend to hit stalemates and get boring .. and they both have glitches and are slow (internet overload) .. but something to do when it rains ..

The games you are talking about are great fun to a lot of us but also flustrating.Just when you get going it says you need something else like power, and you have to buy it as you can not depend on your neighbors to pass it along. Thats my only problem with the games. Farm ville is better but Frontierville is much more exciting .

you can change the looks of your character and that of your frontierville spouse. just click on the family album and it will let you decide what you look like.

I thought all those games were so much fun at first...and it is fun BUILDING your island or farm or city...but then you get 'er built and then it starts to get tedious. You need to move on. I was spending too much time playing the games on Facebook for about 2-3 months, but now I just check in with some of the really good games 2-3 times a week, don't plant any crops, and am not sending or receiving "gifts", so the pressure is off. If I have time, I check my farm/islands/city/cafe, etc., and then get off the computer and back to my real life, which is much more challenging and fun...lol!

Considering most of "playing" these games means sitting around waiting to accumulate energy because it takes so long to advance (unless you are one of the incredibly stupid who actually pays money for A GAME!), then how can anyone lose friends, relationships or their lives playing a game that pretty much can be played once of twice a day for about an hour or so total?

I have never played either of these games. Why? never had an interest and since I have dial-up internet it would probably be impossible. I got a Facebook account so I could keep in touch with family and most of the ones that are on it have almost nothing on them but cr====stuff on these to games. so as the result I will probably not go to my account very often unless I have something very interesting to tell family and friends.
