Gary Numan Plays 'Cars' With Actual Cars for DieHard Batteries

With some help from Syyn Labs and DieHard batteries, Numan has reengineered that '80s fixture to impressively forge a modern musical creation. To achieve the impressive feat, the Syyn team removed the batteries from 24 cars, hooked up MP3 players to each car's speaker system and then connected the autos to a single keyboard through a central computer system. Numan then manned the keys, with each note corresponding to an individual vehicle, its headlights and sound system.
If attempting to determine the point of the video creates confusion, project engineer Eric Gradman reportedly revealed that, "[everything] in the car, the keyboard and the computer was powered using a single DieHard battery." The team certainly crafted an impressive vid, and, though it's technically a commercial, it's already better than anything in MTV's laughable rotation. (Well, with the possible exception of 'Jersey Shore.') [From: Wired]
