'New' HTC Evo Allegedly Sold Preloaded With Porn

Rhonda Lee walked into a Sprint store in Westland, Michigan (just west of Detroit), and picked up what she thought was a brand new phone. While selling phones unwrapped from their plastic sleeves is standard practice, most of the accessories are still sealed when the device is handed over to the consumer. Yet, the power adapter and other cables that came packed with Lee's Evo were opened. This should have set off alarms, but she thought nothing of it, and went about her day.
Later, Lee was showing off her fancy new handset to friends and coworkers when the group discovered, together, that the phone was filled to the brim with pornographic videos. She told ClickOnDetroit, "I was so embarrassed." Lee returned the phone, and, after some haranguing, got the employees to admit that it had been sold to another customer before landing in her hands.
Sprint replaced the phone, but it does raise serious concerns about the company's corporate policies. Is it common to sell used phones as brand new? We're still waiting to hear back from Sprint on that one. [From: ClickOnDetroit.com]
