Obama's New Apps Shows Tech Savvy, 'Twitters' Flub Suggest Not

Organizing for America on iPad and iPhone
The Obama '08 campaign helped to pioneer the use of mobile applications in political campaigns. Now, the remnants of that grassroots group, Organizing for America (OFA), is releasing a new iPhone and iPad app that will connect voters with Democratic representatives and candidates -- just in time for the fall elections. The official OFA app has all the features you'd expect from a political campaign app, including political news, videos, listings of local events and the ability to donate to candidates.

The level of interaction seems quite impressive. Not only are there lists of events, but there are also mapped directions, the ability to RSVP and the opportunity to share photos and videos. You'll also be able to exchange information about the events and news with friends via Facebook, Twitter and e-mail. It can even dial up your congressman with the click of a button.

Of course, on the day that OFA reminds everyone what a tech-savvy political powerhouse it can be, one of its primary drivers, President Obama himself, made a Dubya-level verbal blunder when he referred to Twitter as "Twitters." Presidents can be so cute sometimes. [From: Organizing for America and Jezebel, via: Mashable]
