Essential Sci-Fi Raygun Blasts onto PS3 Peripheral Scene

It's nearly impossible to exaggerate the supreme and unequivocal command that Nintendo holds over the ridiculous, abysmal and periodically awesome add-on market. The company's dominance began decades ago with 'Duck Hunt,' the Power Glove and the Roll & Rocker, and the Wii's motion controllers have only bolstered Nintendo's preeminent peripheral standing.

Now that both Sony and Microsoft are rapidly nearing the releases of their own motion systems, anxious gamers are eagerly awaiting the inevitable accessories. For sharpshooters, virtual death-dealers and wannabe cowboys, weapons undoubtedly rank at the top of the most-wanted list. Nintendo (along with various peripheral pros and parasites) offers Wii owners a variety of gaming guns, including awkward Blasters, as well as awesomely realistic shotguns, sniper rifles and handguns.

But, none of those armaments even remotely compare to the PS3's new raygun accessory. The Move controller apparently snaps into the space weapon, which is sublimely adorned with a luminous, vintage sci-fi blaster bulb. A fortunate and enviable Switched E3 attendee may actually get to battle with virtual, modern-day 'Tiger Men from Mars,' so stay tuned for the hands-on adventures of our own resident Buck Rogers.
