George A. Romero Lends Brand to 'App of the Dead' for iPhone
George A. Romero is known best for his classic zombie flicks 'Night of the Living Dead' and 'Dawn of the Dead,' but has been on a steady march towards complete self-parody since 'Day of the Dead.' Now, the horror director has decided to take his name brand to the iPhone with 'App of the Dead.'The $1.99 tool lets you take and edit photographs to zombify your subject. There are some impressive decals that add blood, decay, sores and wounds to your images -- all of which can be flipped, zoomed and rotated. You can even control the color balance of the decals, although you can't alter the skin tone in your photos. A zombie app wouldn't be complete without a little violence, so 'App of the Dead' includes a mode that lets you shoot your zombie creations in the face with a shotgun.
You can share the results with others, but only via e-mail, and the inability to change skin tone in your photos makes the decals stand out awkwardly. Still, if you're interested, check out the gallery below for some gruesome examples. [From: Techi]
