Sony Unveils Stereoscopic 3-D PlayStation 3 Games
Technically, Sony's PS3 console has been capable of stereoscopic 3-D gaming since a free firmware update was released back in April. However, gamers have been left out in the cold without any titles to play since then. But according to the Playstation blog, 'WipEout HD,' 'Super Stardust HD,' 'PAIN' and a demo for 'MotorStorm Pacific Rift' will be available for the first time today in all their 3-D glory. Of course, you'll need a 3-D television, but luckily Sony sells those, too. If you purchase a 3-D capable Bravia HD TV, you'll get a PlayStation Network voucher that lets you download the previously mentioned games for free. Do we really need asteroids popping out of our TV screen while we play our PS3? Probably not, but we don't really need marshmallows in our cereal either. The upcoming title 'The Fight: Lights Out,' which works with Sony's PlayStation Move technology, will also be available in 3-D at launch. Like it or not, 3-D is just getting started.
