'DJ Hero 2' Confirmed for Fall Release With Dre, Kanye and Gaga

Activision confirms fall release for 'DJ Hero 2.'
With E3 taking place in Los Angeles next week, you can expect a flood of gaming news and announcements in the coming days. According to Engadget, Activision has gotten an early start by confirming a fall launch date for 'DJ Hero 2.' The game (pre-orders available now) will showcase beats from hip-hop mainstays Dr. Dre and Kanye West, hard-rockers Metallica, pop-megastar Lady Gaga and over 80 others. But, perhaps most exciting of all (for wannabe MCs, at least), this new installment will also feature a microphone peripheral. If you buy Activision's 'DJ Hero 2' bundle, you'll actually get two turntables and a microphone [Ed. Note: Where it's at?!]. There will also be changes to the game's career and multi-player modes, along with a freestyle options for gamers who want to get creative.

Although we enjoyed the first game, the DJ setup has a far higher learning curve than its guitar-based brethren, and adding a microphone to the mix could make it even tougher for casual gamers. But if 'DJ Hero 2' is accessible to even the rhythmless, all-night dance parties will undoubtedly get a little more nerdy in the fall. [From: Engadget]
