Snoop Dogg and Daft Punk Visit 'Star Wars' Cantina in Adidas World Cup Ad

Nothing says World Cup Soccer like 'Star Wars,' so it was only reasonable to get Snoop Dogg, Daft Punk, Noel Gallagher of Oasis and Ian Brown of The Stone Roses and Ciara to head to the Mos Eisley cantina to get some drinks served, Lucas style (oh, and David Beckham and Franz Beckenbauer, which somehow ties it back to soccer). Adidas helmed the commercial, which is in support of its 'Adidas originals,' and it was built using the 'Flame' software suite to insert, rather seamlessly, the recent actors into one of film's most iconic scenes.
Some things to note: Greedo doesn't shoot first... Jay Baruchel does. Also, the appearance of Daft Punk looks amazingly natural, and has made all of our nerdy wet dreams come true. Lastly, Snoop Dogg swings a lightsaber, which is as badass as the D-O-double-G can get (and that's saying a lot).
Unfortunately, though, with the gorgeous introduction of the holy past with a present, and commercialized event, we hope Lucas doesn't get any ideas. He's swimming in enough cash, and seeing Zinedine Zidane headbutt his way to the Death Star may just kill us. Good work, Adidas, on getting our attention. Just hope you don't get Lucas's.

It's not the oasis boys... It is Noel from oasis and Ian brown from the stone roses.

They cut and paste together parts of a classic movie and then end it with the tag-line, "celebrate originality"? What's original?

Actually, most people in the world do care about the World Cup. Soccer/Football is the world's most popular sport. It's just not America's. It is mine though, but it's kind of hard for me and the amount (albeit rather large) of Americans I know who do love soccer to be a majority. But I digress - my point was merely that most of the world really does love soccer. And honestly, who doesn't love the crazy British fans who'd kill for their clubs? I know I would love to go to a Chelsea game.

I think this is a great promo! It’s really well done and has a lot of attention to detail.
Boogie Studio remixed all of the original Star Wars cantina sound effects and character dialogue with the new ones from the celebrities and other characters.
It’s a fun campaign and a great way to kick off FIFA 2010.
For more information and to see the full-length version of The Star Wars Cantina 2010 promo as well as learn more about and other projects that Boogie has remixed the sound for,
