CNN Carelessly Reveals Al Gore's E-Mail in Separation Announcement

We're sure Al Gore is drafting his thank-you letter to CNN right now as we speak. The 24-hour news channel carelessly revealed the former Vice President's e-mail address to the entire Web-viewing public. In an article covering the announcement of Al and Tipper Gore's separation, the network linked to a PDF copy of the e-mail announcing the break up. While CNN took care to black out the text of Al Gore's e-mail address, it apparently failed to remove the link. By clicking on the black box that obscures the address, a user's preferred e-mail client launches with the the 'Inconvenient Truth' scribe's personal (and private) e-mail in the "to" field.

CNN has since cleaned up the offending PDF, but we're sure not before hundreds, if not thousands, of people clicked on and downloaded the document. We hope Mr. Gore is really handy with his e-mail filters. [From: WebNewser]
