As bloggers, we were heartened to know that most of the people we asked in Times Square actually did know what a blog is. One man was quite fervently opposed to blogs, saying that he had never sought one out himself. (But we're willing to bet he's read one -- and now he's even being featured on one. Bam!) We'll just pretend that all of the negative comments about blogs were directed at those Blogger and Wordpress folk who prattle on about their daily meanderings, children and dreams. We, of course, are of a higher order. We are professionals.

I blog (weblog) is a diary or archive of things that YOU want to talk about. YOU are in control because it is YOUR weblog or diary.
Many think that YOUR blog is something that they and others have control over. Yes, others may post to your blog - if you permit it - but YOU are the one who is ultimately in control over it. It is YOURS.
If other persons do not like your content. Stuff ! It is NOT their blog.
That is the real idea behind a blog.

What is a blog?
A blog is a medium of communication where you can post your thoughts and ideas regardless of what others think or say. It is where you can write new ideas or react and object to situations or commentaries coming from the news media.

Unless, of course, that blog is run by AOL and their "civilogue" police. They have taken articles that would have generated lively exchange by hundreds, if not thousands of responders and turned them into polite little exchanges of utter nonsense between a select FEW. Way to ruin a good thing AOL (your pc is showing!)

A blog is also the last web page anyone will ever want to read if it contains any serious subjects. It fit mirrors the entertainment industry, you'll probably get page views for mentioning someone famous and posting something like, "Yeah...[Insert Artist Here] is cool!!"

I have a Blog that might be considered obscure by some. I simply post writings, stories, essays in hopes of getting some positive feedback. I never post anything political religious are any attract on anyone. Just simple writing.
