We were initially pretty skeptical about the idea of turning the endlessly hilarious
ShitMyDadSays Twitter account into a television show. Then we heard that
Bill Shatner had signed on to play the cantankerous father that inspired the account, and we got a little excited to hear Captain Kirk spit out little bits of wisdom like, "
Waking up when you got a baby, you feel like you drank a bottle of whiskey the night before, except the shit's in someone else's pants." Now CBS has been kind enough to give us a preview of how it's shaping up, and we've got to say, we're back to feeling a little apprehensive about the show.
Maybe CBS just chose the weakest one liners for the preview video, but the jokes failed to make up for having to listen to the stars and producers talk about how '$#*! My Dad Says' is centered around a heart-felt story about a family that loves each other. It's pretty cool that Justin Halpern managed to parlay a Twitter account full of obscenity laden jokes into prime-time deal with a major network, but from the looks of it, '$#*! My Dad Says' is shaping up to be a pretty run-of-the-mill (read: boring) sitcom. But don't take our word for it, check out the video below. [From:
