Anybots QB Prototype Strikes Fear in the Hearts of Telecommuters

Anybot QBAs telecommunication becomes faster, more capable and more easily accessible in the developed world's largely post-industrial economy, it matters less and less where a worker does his or her job. And take it from us, the benefits abound. For one, before we took up our blogging mantles, we'd never done laundry while at work. Or let in the guy from the gas company. Or, glory be, participated in conference calls from a front porch. Undoubtedly, though, the whole prospect of home employment makes some folks a little nervous -- most often, the dudes in the suits who are cutting the checks. Well, that's where Anybots' QB, the robotic overseer, comes into play.

According to PC Magazine, the creeps developers over at Anybots unveiled Tuesday the two-wheeled, camera-eyed, microphone-eared, CPU-equipped, Web-chatting bot that will soon be known to, and feared in, the world as, simply, "QB" (video below). With an expected price tag of $15,000, the cyborg supervisor would allow employers to terrify spy on check in on their far-flung employees with a "mobile telepresence." Right. Well, tread carefully, employers. There are certain facts about your telecommuters' lives that are best left to the imagination. And, if you really want to plant these suckers in our apartments, you might want to reassess your definition of "proper business attire." Or just "attire," in general, for that matter.
