LEGO Engineer Pieces Together a Truly Useless, but Sinister, Machine

His "sinister" source of inspiration, as sci-fi legend Arthur C. Clarke originally and appropriately dubbed it, was Minsky and Shannon's incredibly creepy "Ultimate Machine" from the '50s. Despite its somewhat misleading title, the machine possesses a singular and frustrating function: the ability to turn itself off as soon as it's turned on. The creator's YouTube video demonstrates the contraption in action, and he even unlocks its sides to reveal a glimpse of the box's guts -- just in case anyone wants to duplicate his disturbing design. If for some reason you do, just make sure to keep its terrifying claw away from your knife drawer. [From: Boing Boing]
