'My Fireplace' Lets You Tend Virtual Flames on Your Wii

Wii Fireplace
We're sure that one of you out there owns a Blu-ray fireplace or tunes in to the yule log on Christmas morning. Those might be fine for passively creating a certain atmosphere (whether or not that atmosphere is actually desirable is something completely different). But what really hooks people these days is interactivity, and a loop of burning logs on network TV is about as far from interactive as it gets.

Korner Entertainment S.L. wants to usher the virtual fireplace into the 21st century by bringing it to the Wii. 'My Fireplace' requires players to tend to flames by adding logs and pumping air over the embers to keep the fire alive. You can even decorate the mantle to make your fake fireplace unique to you. Release date and price haven't been announced, but one can only assume you'll see it in time for the holiday season. We're just shocked it took someone this long to apply the virtual pet model to everyone's favorite tamed force of nature. [From: Joystiq]
