  • Virgin Galactic introduced its SpaceShipTwo last January, and recent news has it that construction of Spaceport America could be completed as early as next month. Now, another company apparently wants in on the commercial space travel movement; Dassault Aviation is reportedly developing a craft that can reach an elevation of 62 miles, and can provide up to three minutes of weightlessness.   • Given the large number of gamers who stream the Internet through their consoles, and the ongoing development of platforms like Google TV, producing Web-ready televisions seems like a common sense move for electronics firms. According to ABI Research, companies are indeed paying attention, as the analysts predict that the number of connected flat panels will reach 46-percent by 2013 -- more than double the current estimate.   • Citing "increased privacy risks which have come to light in recent weeks," the University of California, Davis has decided to halt its faculty and staff Gmail experiment. The school was considering the popular service for the role of official campus e-mail provider, and will, at least for now, only continue using Gmail for its almost 30,000 students.   • Google officially unveiled its logo and search face lifts yesterday. The company also revealed that it will be implementing similar changes to its mobile platform. According to the blog, Google Mobile will continue to evolve in the near future, as it will be "supporting more devices and locales, and expanding the number of options available."   • Apple began addressing the features of its iPhone OS 4.0 software at its keynote event last month, and specific details have emerged with a recent beta release. As previously reported, the software will allow for multi-tasking, and it will also enable easy file transfers from gadget to computer.
