Skype Rolling Out Five-Person Group Chat for Windows Users

5 way skype chat
According to the AP, Skype plans to roll out a beta version of a new group video chat feature, which will let as many as five users talk simultaneously. While the feature won't cost a dime, for right now anyway, you will have to be a Windows user to enjoy it. Skype has said, though, that it will introduce the feature to Mac users later this year. You better get it while you can, too; Neil Stevens, general manager of Skype's consumer business segment, told the AP that the company will begin charging for this feature and for unspecified others within the next three or four months. He said Skype will also be expanding its service to 170 countries.

With rumors of Google offering a free VoIP service in the future, Skype will have to differentiate itself and offer unique services. Not only will this make party calls with our friends even more obnoxious than ever before, but it will ensure you'll never miss another resource management optimization meeting for work. Thanks, Skype. [From: AP/The Washington Post]
