Nanny-bot Can Save Lives... and Also Text You When You're Lonely
The Nanny-bot offers numerous care-giving benefits, including harmful odor detection and the necessary ability to contact emergency services. It can also maneuver through homes using advanced sensors, and can even text its owner in case he or she is feeling lonely and in need of mobile robo-companionship.
While such robot companions may not necessarily seem revolutionary (and dogs can pretty much perform the same exact tasks), this model is particularly, and ridiculously, cute. It's also not expected to hit the market for another five years, so perhaps its designers can add diaper-changing powers before the Robo-nanny becomes commercially available. Seriously guys, it's already 2010. What is the hold-up? [From: Plastic Pals, via Dvice]
