Know Your Meme Educates Users About Fair Use

Fair Use allows for limited, unlicensed inclusion of copyrighted material in other works for the purposes of commentary, criticism, news reporting or education. In light of the recent takedown of mashups based on the German film 'Downfall' about Hitler's final days in power, Know Your Meme and the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) have embarked on a campaign to educate the public about Fair Use and how to fight back against wrongful removal of your content.
You can find the EFF's thorough guide to YouTube removals here. We've also included a pair of videos after the jump from Know Your Meme explaining why this issue is important and how exercise your rights. Just like in real life, knowing your rights as a citizen is essential on the Web. [From: Know Your Meme, Via: Laughing Squid]
