Zynga Confirms 'FrontierVille' Game Is Coming to Facebook. Sigh.

zynga frontiervilleAs if there weren't enough games on Facebook to keep us busy for a lifetime, TechCrunch reports that Zynga, developer of 'FarmVille' and other sickeningly addictive games, will soon unleash a new title called 'FrontierVille' on the social-networking world. If you've played an of the other 'Ville' games, you know what to expect. Essentially, you'll mindlessly click away in order to accomplish different tasks on your 'property' and that which your friends 'own.'

Here's the description that a TechCrunch writer found while logged into a Facebook Developer Test Account: "Howdy Pardner! Let's explore a new life on the frontier. You gotta chop trees to construct buildings, clear land to raise livestock, plant crops, and raise a family. The untamed wilderness is hazardous, but your fellow pioneers are there to help." So the game will be set in the Wild West in the vein of 'Oregon Trail,' we assume. Other than that, details are pretty scarce. But Zynga did confirm to Kotaku that the game was in development and more information would follow closer to launch.

Keeping in mind the recent release of 'Treasure Isle,' it seems like there's no end in sight for the 'Ville' series. Looks like the only thing to do is put on those boots, dust off that wagon and find your old gold pan -- or you know, get a life and log-off Facebook. [From: Tech Crunch, via: Kotaku]
