The Best DS Games You Should Be Playing

More than any other console or hand held currently available, the Nintendo DS has proven itself as a video game system with universal appeal. Even the Nintendo Wii has had trouble satisfying hardcore gamers, whereas the DS's game library is filled with current-gen classics for gamers of any inclination. Whether young or old, hardcore or casual, the DS accommodates audiences with tastes that range from niche to mainstream. With the recently released DSi XL, and the forthcoming 3DS (which promises backwards compatibility) now is the perfect time for any one who hasn't experienced the system's charms to jump in. The sheer quantity of great games for the system means that plenty remain sadly overlooked, however, so we've compiled this list of the best DS games that we think everyone should be checking out.
