Bill Gates Wants to Nuke Your House, Demi Moore's Twitter Suicide Prevention?

Highlights from this morning's other big tech headlines....
- Gallup has been gauging the public's attitude about nuclear power since 1994, and the organization is claiming that support for the energy source is now at an all-time high. That's great news for Toshiba and TerraPower (which is partially funded by energy-vacuum Bill Gates), the two of which are reportedly discussing a plan to develop small nuclear reactors for use in individual homes. - If she were to ever grow weary of Hollywood and its superficial ways, Demi Moore might want to consider creating a social networking crisis hotline. The actress has now played a role in preventing two separate suicides via her Twitter account, with fellow actress Nia Vardalos aiding in the most recent Twitter rescue. [From: Video Gum and Yahoo! - After months of turmoil, Google finally packed its Chinese bags and set up (uncensored) shop in Hong Kong. Discussing the move and the tenuous future of the search engine in China, Google co-founder Sergey Brin told the New York Times, "Our hope is there is progress and a more open Internet in China." - German cyber-security experts urged residents of the nation to avoid Firefox 3.6 this week because of concerns over a security vulnerability. Mozilla has subsequently released its 3.6.2 security patch, though, and it's available for download now at the Mozilla Web site. [From: The BBC]
- The already formidable AT&T smartphone lineup continues to get stouter. The company is reportedly adding both the Palm Pre Plus and the Pixi Plus to its arsenal, and, while a release date is still unknown, demonstrations of the models should occur at the upcoming CTIA. [From: Engadget]

Demi definitely has put the bar up for other celebrities. Fans seek her attention and probably for help also. If she does create her own crisis hot-line that would be interesting.
