'Law & Order' Star Accused of Choking Apple Employee

A New York City Apple Store employee claims she was choked by 'Law & Order' star Richard Belzer. According to the New York Post, police were called to the Upper West Side store because Milan Agnew, 21, alleged that Belzer lunged at her, grabbed her neck, shouted "I need help!" and choked her. But after talking with witnesses and watching the surveillance video, New York City police determined there'd be no criminal charges against Belzer. Agnew still filed a complaint with police, which could lead to a civil case.

Belzer admitted he was frustrated about waiting for help to purchase a computer. He told the Post that he placed his hands on Agnew's shoulders and requested help, but not in a malicious manner. Mostly, he's frustrated that Agnew wasted the police's time. "The sad part of it was that police officers were called and had to report to the scene and God knows we don't need all that manpower wasted on a trivial accusation that was clearly done either for attention or to embarrass a famous person," Belzer told the Post.

Belzer also told the Post that he'd like an apology from Apple. "It's surprising that Apple would not apologize to such a high-profile, good customer. I've spent thousands of dollars there," Belzer said. In that case, we'd like an apology, too. [From: New York Post, via: Valleywag]
