Foamy-mouthed fanboys (and everyone attempting to save print) are one step closer to getting their greasy paws on the "magical and revolutionary"
iPad this morning, as Apple has finally opened up
pre-orders this morning. Those who camped out in front of their iMacs this morning, buying fingers twitching above the imaginary buttons on their Magic Mouse, will get the tablet device delivered to their doorstep on April 3. Apple is currently limiting iPad purchases to two per customer, but that's more than enough to light up your credit card.
Will the masses rush to pick up this not-quite-a-computer? Or, three months down the road, will
Apple have a warehouse filled with the tablets sitting around in depressing looking piles? What about you? Did you order your iPad this Morning? [From:

I don't see the hype over the iPad. I would LOVE to have a tablet PC so I could upload all my notes to PDF and read them, along with the notes/papers my professors already assign, onto said tablet and read them easily in class without getting out a laptop.
however, Why on earth would I buy the iPad with a neutered operating system? I'd MUCH rather have a plain jane tablet with some computing power and dual boot a combination of either Linux/Snow Leopard or Win7/S.L. That way I have the ability of the full operating system without having to pay the price premium because "It's a Mac and it's what everyone wants because it looks cool and is the new thing."
