Design Group Mourns Death of Internet Explorer 6 With Mock Funeral

According to CNN, a Denver, Colorado company called Aten Design Group hosted a mock funeral Thursday for Microsoft's nearly defunct Web browser. About 100 people (presumably clad in black) met and gathered around a coffin, which held a fake body with an IE6 logo in the place of a head. Those in attendance waxed philosophical about the browser that everybody loves to hate. If you weren't one of the lucky attendees, you can still read some of the eulogies on the event's site. Here's one of our favorites: "Like Biggy and Tupac before you, you'll be remembered long after we've forgotten why you were ever popular."
While this event was clearly tongue-in-cheek, IE6 is truly knocking on death's door. On Monday, Google Docs and Google Sites stopped supporting the browser, and, next week, YouTube will do the same. So pay your last respects, folks. It's nothing personal, just business. [From: CNN]
