Mobile Foursquare Site Gets TV Ad Thanks to Bravo
Bravo is partnering with Foursquare for a promotion that will point users to locations from its shows and open up Bravo exclusive badges. The big news isn't that people can take advantage of the geo-location powered social-network-cum-game via Guides By Bravo or add a level or interaction with 'Sheer Genius' or 'Real Housewives.' What is grabbing our attention is that Bravo has produced a 20-second spot that amounts to a real live television commercial for Foursquare. The ad aired last night making it once of the few crop of free Web services that has put commercials on traditional TV. Google hit during the Super Bowl, but social networks have been absent from television advertising. In fact, Foursquare, which largely piggybacks on other networks like Twitter, has beaten all of its competitors to the punch. Check out the ad embedded below. [From: TechCrunch]
