Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne Reveals His 'Strange, Futuristic Bathroom'

Many of us here at Switched do some of our best thinking in the bathroom. But if our bathrooms looked anything like the Flaming Lips' magical mystery tour of a powder room, we can't even fathom the kinds of posts we'd be penning.

DesignMilk has photos of mastermind Wayne Coyne's newly renovated bathroom in his Oklahoma City home, and, as you can see, it's breathtakingly trippy. The loo, designed by FitzSimmons Architects, looks like something straight out of the 'Planet Earth' cave episode -- if only Stanley Kubrick had directed 'Planet Earth.' Lead singer and personal hero Wayne Coyne describes it as his "strange, futuristic bathroom" that he enters every morning from his "strange, artistic bedroom." As he says during a guided tour of the space, "Now, you are entering into the drug-damaged, artist element of our home." (The Flaming Lips and drugs? Get outta town!) Yet, despite his kookiness, Coyne is delightfully reminiscent of our wacky dads.

But let's be honest. Coyne is the lead singer of The Flaming Lips. He walks in a giant bubble at concerts and hangs out in bathtubs in his front yard. You didn't really expect white tile or his-and-her bathrobes, did you? [From: Design Milk, via: GeekOSystem]
