'Adobe Photoshop Cook' Culls Cookies From Cardboard, Curves Palette

Imagine if the seemingly endless capabilities of 'Photoshop' could be applied to something other than digital imagery. A new video by Maya Rota Klein indulges in that fantasy, making a canvas out of her kitchen counter. 'Adobe Photoshop Cook' is an adorable stop-motion flight of fancy, in which ingredients can be pulled from a series of swatches -- as easily as RGB colors.

Klein does make some strange choices when it comes to her dough-making method (Mixing in a baking pan? Not cutting in the butter? And what exactly is "quanty"?). But, still, one presumes that those bugs might be tackled in 'PsCook CS4.' Check out the video after the break to see if you disagree with her creaming method.

We have to give the creator of this video a hand for her ingenuity when it comes to cardboard sets, despite how commonplace amateur stop-motion animation has become in this mashed-up age of 3-D and augmented reality. We do think that major opportunities were overlooked with the Filters menu (spherized and lens-flared cookies, anyone?), but the Curves palette appropriated as a cooking gauge makes up for that. And now we're jonesing for shortbread. [From: Vimeo]
