Man Loses House to Fire, Reads About It on Salvaged, Melted iMac
Apple has received so much attention and criticism over explosive and incendiary gadgets that it's definitely time for a fiery reversal of fortune. After being plagued for years by volatile iPods and iPhones, the company has again made the news -- this time with an incinerated iMac. But, in this particular situation, the gadget wasn't actually the source of the flames. After an inferno completely destroyed the Swedish home of Anders Norman, and apparently everything inside of it, Norman whimsically decided to press the start button on his melted iMac. Somehow, the charred computer not only managed to turn on, but it also connected to the Net. Anders was then able to locate and read an article about his house fire, on the only device that actually survived the incident.
There are additional photographs of the amazing iMac (albethey with Swedish captions) at the Feber Web site, and you can check out still more combustible computers in our compilation of the World's Most Evil Gadgets. [From: TUAW]
